Over the course of five days, we will each give a 45-minute presentation in the afternoon, followed by an opportunity for discussion and questions:
Optical Cryostats Date: November 10th Time: 14:00 bis 14:45 David Appel, Quantum Design GmbH Product Manager - Cryogenics & Materials science Many applications for optical cryostats require a cryogen free design and a robustness against vibrations at the sample. This combination is not easy to achieve so the better that David Appel, product manager at QDE will present two commercial solutions. The Cryostation and the Opticool are plug-and-play solutions and suit many applications like sensitive spectroscopy or microscopy.
Magnetic measurements with VSM, SQUID & Co. Date: November 15th Time: 14:00 bis 14:45 Dr. Marc Kunzmann, Quantum Design GmbH Product Manager - Cryogenics & Materials science An overview about magnetic measurements given by QDE'S product manager Dr. Marc Kunzmann. A comparison on the different type of systems/ magnetometers and the different measurement possibilities. This will always with a few of possible sample temperatures and advantages of the different systems and some general considerations about sample types and mounting.
Helium supply solutions for laboratories Date: November 17th Time: 14:00 bis 14:45 David Appel, Quantum Design GmbH Product Manager - Cryogenics & Materials science The cost for Helium gas more than doubled since end of last year. We will show different solutions how to make your lab independent from the Helium supply, starting from small close Helium circuits up to a lab-style Helium liquefier with recovery system.
New approach for AC, DC & lock-in electric source and measure Date: November 22nd Time: 15:00 bis 15:45 Chuck Cimino., Lakeshore Senior Product Manager
DynaCool – great measurement options beyond magnetometry Date: November 23rd Time: 11:00 to 11:45 Stefan Riesner, Quantum Design GmbH Application Engineer A PPMS is a multi-purpose measurement system for sample characterization with regards to physical parameters. In this presentation held by QDE’s application scientist Stefan Riesner we want to focus on heat capacity, dilatometry and a DIY RF probe. The measurement of HC opens the door to the thermodynamics while dilatometry measures a mechanical property. Last but not least will Stefan Riesner present a proof of concept of an RF insert.
