The influence of light pollution on aquatic ecosystems
Artificial light is gaining attention as a potential stressor to aquatic ecosystems. Those lights located near streams increase light levels experienced by stream invertebrates and we hypothesized light would depress night drift rates. All measurements were performed using ILT1700 light meter from International Light Technologies (range 0.00167 – 1,670,000 lx ).
