Contrast Max – IBS Ion Beam Sputtered optical filters

Our longtime supplier Chroma now provides brand-new, innovative optical filters.

These filters are produced with special IBS technology (Ion Beam Sputtered) and have been specifically designed for automized imaging processes.

The most striking differences compared with standard filter types
Outstandingly steep edges

95% transmission over the entire passband and transition between wanted and unwanted light is sharper.

The contrast increases which enhances the image quality.
High acceptance angle up to 25°

Standard filters loose their properties when light enters at an angle. Up to now, you had to use common color-glass filters to compensate.

With the brand-new Contrast Max technology, the acceptance angle is extended to 25° while transmission and blocking remain the same.

More light can pass the filter which leads to enhanced image quality and faster repetition rate.
High blocking outside the passband

This allows even very light-sensitive applications like industrial fluorescence measurements and mechanical imaging. Microscopy applications in particular require high continuous blocking values to allow the combination with mercury and halogen lamps.

Disruptive light is blocked which improves the signal-to-noise ratio.
