New Cryostat with High Cooling Power and Large Sample Space
Montana Instruments (MI) has introduced a new cryostat that combines the spacious sample chamber of the s200 model with a powerful pulse tube cooler.
The result: a cooling power of 250 mW at 4.2 K and a cooldown time from room temperature to 4.2 K in just six hours.
Thanks to vibration stability of less than 30 nm (peak-to-peak), the system enables optical experiments on nanostructures without compromise.
A total of six vacuum feedthroughs provide space for up to 100 RF or DC lines. This makes the system ideal for applications with higher thermal loads—whether due to a large number of feedthroughs or dissipated heat during measurements.
As with all MI cryostats, the cool-down and warm-up processes are fully automated via the proprietary Galaxy software.
This makes the system perfectly suited for rapid pre-characterization of components for superconducting quantum computers or ion trap systems.
Specifications:
- Base temperature: 3.6 K
- Vibration (peak-to-peak): < 30 nm
- Sample chamber diameter: 200 mm
