Picosecond and Femtosecond Fiber Lasers for OEM Integration – Rainbow OEM
Rainbow OEM Series from NPI LasersThe Rainbow OEM series comprises four compact ultrafast fiber lasers for integration into optical and spectroscopic systems. The available models cover wavelengths from the green to the near-infrared spectral range and provide either picosecond or femtosecond pulses.
All four models can be controlled remotely via software. Depending on the wavelength and pulse parameters required, the laser output is provided as a spatially collimated beam or through a polarization-maintaining single-mode fiber.
- Wavelength options from 532 to 1560 nm
- Picosecond and femtosecond pulse configurations
- Compact designs for OEM integration
- Remote control via software
- Average power stability below 0.5% RMS over 12 hours
- Free-space or polarization-maintaining fiber output, depending on the model

Four Models for Different Integration Requirements
The Rainbow OEM series covers four wavelength ranges and two pulse-duration regimes. The Rainbow 532 OEM and Rainbow 1064 OEM generate picosecond pulses, while the Rainbow 780 OEM and Rainbow 1550 OEM provide femtosecond pulses.
In addition to wavelength and pulse duration, the output configuration is an important selection criterion. The 532 and 780 nm models provide a spatially collimated output as standard. The 1064 and 1550 nm models use a polarization-maintaining single-mode fiber with an FC/APC connector.
Choosing the Right Rainbow OEM Model
| Choose this model if you need … | Recommended model | Key reason |
|---|---|---|
| Green picosecond excitation | Rainbow 532 OEM | 532 nm output; optionally fiber-pigtailed |
| Femtosecond pulses around 780 nm | Rainbow 780 OEM | Typically 80 fs; free-space output |
| High-power picosecond fiber output | Rainbow 1064 OEM | >200 mW; PM fiber output |
| Femtosecond pulses around 1550 nm | Rainbow 1550 OEM | <80 fs; PM fiber output; optional AOM |
Rainbow 532 OEM – Green Picosecond Excitation
Choose this model for fluorescence lifetime imaging, TCSPC and nonlinear-optical applications requiring 532 nm output. A fiber-pigtailed configuration is optionally available.
Rainbow 780 OEM – Femtosecond Pulses for THz Systems
Designed for applications requiring pulses around 80 fs at 780 nm, particularly terahertz generation, THz time-domain spectroscopy and two-photon polymerization.
Rainbow 1064 OEM – High-Power Picosecond Fiber Output
The preferred option for amplifier seeding, supercontinuum generation and laser metrology requiring more than 200 mW and PM fiber delivery.
Rainbow 1550 OEM – Femtosecond Fiber Output in the NIR
Suitable for near-infrared ultrafast systems requiring pulses below 80 fs, PM fiber delivery and flexible repetition-rate options.
APPLICATIONS
Applications depend on the wavelength and pulse characteristics of the selected model:
- Fluorescence lifetime imaging and TCSPC – Rainbow 532 OEM
- Terahertz generation and THz time-domain spectroscopy – Rainbow 780 OEM and Rainbow 1550 OEM
- SHG/THG imaging – Rainbow 532 OEM, Rainbow 780 OEM and Rainbow 1550 OEM
- Two-photon polymerization – Rainbow 780 OEM
- Amplifier seeding – Rainbow 1064 OEM
