X-ray detectors

The XPIN™ is Moxtek's next generation energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) detector. The XPIN utilizes thicker Si-PIN diode material and thin beryllium windows to provide optimal energy resolution and X-ray photon sensitivity. The XPIN is available in multiple configurations, providing design flexibility for a wide range of industrial EDXRF applications.
The X-PIN's 625 μm thick Si PIN diode has an ultra-low noise JFET, a multilayer collimator, a preamplifier and is internally cooled with a two-stage thermoelectric cooler.

The XPIN™ uses DuraBeryllium^® windows coated with DuraCoat^® which makes them corrosion resistant. This is what makes the X-PIN detectors ideal for harsh environments. All Moxtek detectors are vacuum encapsulated, allowing for minimal detector temperatures. The XPIN is available with 6 mm² or 13 mm² active area.
