Hello, I’m Shiva Choupanian, Product Manager for Woollam ellipsometers at Quantum Design Europe. I enjoy taking a hands-on approach to measurements and data analysis, particularly when tackling challenging questions. What I find most rewarding is working closely with customers to turn complex measurement results into clear, actionable insights. My scientific background is in solid-state physics and photonics, with a particular focus on thin-film characterisation. Today, I draw on this experience in my work with customers and international partners—whether conducting test measurements, developing measurement strategies or analysing ellipsometry data. My aim is always to find practical solutions that genuinely move projects forward.

Outside work, maintaining balance and focus is very important to me. Playing the piano and creating hyperrealistic drawings provide a creative outlet, while regular morning workouts give me energy for the day ahead. Together, these activities help me remain focused, motivated and curious in my professional life.
