High-Power Picosecond and Femtosecond Lasers from 515 to 1970 nm – Rainbow HP

Rainbow HP Series from NPI Lasers

The Rainbow HP series comprises high-power picosecond and femtosecond laser systems covering wavelengths from 515 nm to approximately 2 µm. Depending on the model, the lasers provide average output powers from more than 200 mW to more than 5 W, with pulse durations below 10 ps or as short as 150 fs.

The series includes frequency-converted visible systems as well as high-power sources around 780 nm, 1 µm, 1.55 µm and 2 µm. This allows users to select a source according to wavelength, pulse duration, average power and application requirements.

Rainbow HP lasers are designed as fully integrated, turn-key systems for scientific and industrial applications including microscopy, spectroscopy, nonlinear optics, terahertz generation and photonics research.

Model-Specific Information

Rainbow 515 HP

The Rainbow 515 HP provides more than 1 W of green output at 515 ± 2 nm with pulse durations below 200 fs. The standard repetition rate is 80 MHz, with factory-configured rates from 30 to 80 MHz stated as optional.

The model combines femtosecond pulse duration with watt-level visible output.

Rainbow 532 HP

The Rainbow 532 HP is the green picosecond model of the series. It provides pulses below 10 ps at 532 ± 1 nm and operates at a standard repetition rate of 50 MHz. Repetition rates from 20 to 80 MHz are available as options.

The manufacturer describes standard configurations between 1 and 5 W and customised versions above 8 W. The formal specification table guarantees more than 1 W.

Rainbow 780 HP

The Rainbow 780 HP is generated by frequency doubling the Rainbow 1550 HP platform. It provides more than 200 mW at 780 ± 10 nm with pulse durations below 150 fs.

The standard pulse energy is above 2.5 nJ, while a 10 nJ version is stated as optional. Configurations providing both fundamental and frequency-doubled output may be available.

Rainbow 1030 HP

The Rainbow 1030 HP is the highest-average-power model in the documented series. It provides more than 5 W between 1030 and 1060 nm, with pulse durations below 200 fs and pulse energies above 60 nJ.

The manufacturer also states that configurations with fundamental and frequency-doubled output ports may be available.

Rainbow 1550 HP

The Rainbow 1550 HP provides more than 1 W at 1560 ± 10 nm with pulse durations below 150 fs and pulse energies above 12.5 nJ.

It is the fundamental source platform associated with the frequency-doubled Rainbow 780 HP and may be configured with fundamental and frequency-doubled output ports.

Rainbow 2000 HP
