The spin coaters SCI-225mini is designed for routine applications and has a maximum idling speeds of 13.500 rpm. Due to the special design of the rotational tables (radial drilled holes) a passive vacuum hold-down of the substrate is achieved at medium to high rotational speeds.

The spin coater models SCR, SCE-150 and SCC-200 provide active vacuum holddown of substrates by using an external vacuum pump. The model SCE-150 offers a programmable ramp function with adjustable speed level; the SCC-200 is capable of storing ten program routines.

Anwendungen

Mit Spin Coatern lassen sich Filme reproduzierbarer Dicke aus verschiedensten Materialen (Foto- und andere Lacke, Polyimide, Sol-Gele, usw.) auf nahezu jeder Art Substrat (Kupfer, Silikon, Glas, Plastik, etc.) aufbringen. Beim Spin-Coating werden diese flüssigen oder auch pastösen Substanzen auf das sehr schnell rotierende Substrat aufdosiert. Infolge der auftretenden Fliehkräfte werden diese Substanzen radial nach außen geschleudert; dabei bleibt ein dünner Substanzfilm (nm - µm) auf dem Substrat zurück. Spin Coater sind damit ideale Werkzeuge zur Herstellung dünner und ultradünner Filme für viele Anwendungen, insbesondere auch für spektroskopische Untersuchungen (optisch, IR, Röntgen, dielektrisch etc.)
