Micro Materials Mini Conference 2018 in Germany!

The Micro Materials Mini Conference on Nanoindentation at the University of Warwick (UK) in December of last year attracted more than 54 scientists and users of the MML nanoindenter. The program comprised speeches on the Micro Materials product range and a visit to the laboratory in the afternoon. The first day ended with a joint dinner as a great chance for networking and knowledge exchange. The second day offered lectures on the various topics around nanoindentation. Prof. Barbara Shollock of Warwick University started the series with her keynote presentation on the meaning of realistic analyses of materials. In Warwick, these analyses are performed with NanoTest Xtreme, a unique nanoindentation platform which allows measurements up to 1000 °C. Experts from all over Europe held further talks on topics like nanomechanical testing, micro-fractures, modeling, size effects, new testing methods, high-temperature measurements and coatings. We are planning a similar event in Aachen, Germany in December 2018. The conference will not be limited to MML system users. It is explicitly dedicated to all researchers working in the field of nanoindentation.
