Dynamic measurements ensure you can measure surface quality with high precision, even in an automated environment, or in the turbulence caused by a large separation between your part and the metrology system.
It means you can attach your metrology system to a robot and sample at high speed or take a measurement of a surface that is changing under stress.
4D’s patented Dynamic Interferometry® technology enables 4D’s laser interferometry products to measure in difficult environments, where vibration, air turbulence or rapid motion have traditionally prevented accurate measurement.
PhaseCam Twyman-Green Laser Interferometers
PhaseCam dynamic Twyman-Green laser interferometers provide high resolution measurements despite vibration and air turbulence. Dynamic Interferometry® enables PhaseCam laser interferometers to capture full wavefront measurements in as little as 30 microseconds - 5000 times faster than conventional phase shifting interferometers. Compact and lightweight, PhaseCam interferometers, equipped with a robust acquisition and analysis software, are the industry choice for measuring surface shape of large focal optics and aspheres, and for determining the quality of complex optical systems.
Twyman-Green laser interferometers offer several important advantages over more traditional Fizeau instruments:
- Vibration-insensitive measurement enables use in challenging environments such as cryo-vac testing or over long measurement paths.
- The design can be extremely compact, enabling use in tight spaces, or in difficult-to-access locations.
- The on-axis design provides excellent accuracy, particularly when measuring spherical elements.
- The ratio of power between test and reference is adjusted in a lossless fashion
AccuFiz Fizeau Laser Interferometers
A Fizeau interferometer is a laser interferometer configuration commonly used for measuring the surface shape and transmission quality of optics and optical-grade surfaces.
Fizeau interferometers offer high performances in optical metrology and high versatility in measuring flat and curved optical components. Operating with the Temporal Phase Shifting Interferometry acquisition mode, 4D AccuFiz Fizeau interferometers produce accurate, repeatable interferometric measurements of surface shape, radius of curvature and transmitted wavefront quality.
Optional, vibration-insensitive Dynamic mode enables measurements under almost any environmental condition, without vibration isolation.
