Raman microscopy is a well-established measurement method to determine the composition, crystallinity, stress and doping of a sample. Most of these experiments take place at room temperature although temperature-dependent measurements have many advantages: A lot of materials show interesting phase transitions at low temperatures. Also, spectral lines become narrower as lattice vibration is reduced. However, the experimental setups have always been complex and expensive.

The new easy-to-use Raman microscope is based on the s100-C0 cryo-microscope and allows the creation of profiles over the entire temperature range in only minutes. Lens adjustment during the measurement is not necessary. The included lens has a high numerical aperture and allows the measurement of materials with weak emission.

The modular system is installed on an optical table and can easily be optimized with electric feedthroughs, microwave connections and many other options. This means, the cryostat is also well suited for other applications. The Raman microscope uses only one of five available windows. The cryostat is cryogen-free and features vibration isolation so that other experiments on the optical table are not affected.
