Large area X-Ray Imaging detectors

WidePix from Advacam

The WidePIX Series from Advacam is based on Medipix3 technology and delivers large-area, spectral X-ray imaging using seamlessly tiled sensor chips. Elongated models such as WidePIX CHROMATIC (formerly WidePIX L MPX3) are ideally suited for TDI mode, where objects move during image acquisition—making them a strong choice for inline inspection.

The WidePIX CHROMATIC 25 (formerly WidePIX 5×5 MPX3) combines 25 chips in a 5×5 arrangement to create a homogeneous, large imaging area. It is particularly well suited for applications such as materials analysis, forensic examination of artworks, or digital pathology. With a 55 µm pixel size, selectable Si or CdTe sensors, and model-dependent resolutions of up to 512 × 3840 pixels (WidePIX CHROMATIC 15 with 2×15 chips) or 1280 × 1280 pixels (WidePIX CHROMATIC 25), these detectors deliver highly precise, spectrally differentiated images.

They operate in single-pixel or charge-summing mode and are controlled via USB or Ethernet with trigger I/Os—a powerful solution for research and industrial applications.
