Calibration Light Sources

Pen-Ray Line Sources

Pen-Ray line sources are low-pressure, cold-cathode mercury lamps with double-walled quartz envelopes that generate monochromatic UV radiation. They offer high spectral stability, precisely defined emission lines, and an operating lifetime of more than 3,000 hours. The lamps are available with various illuminated lengths and emission wavelengths.
Their compact design makes them suitable for a wide range of scientific and industrial applications, including fluorescence analysis, photochemistry, spectroscopy, wavelength calibration, interferometry, chromatography, UV sterilization, and ozone generation.

Calibrated Radiation Sources (UV–NIR)

Calibrated radiation sources serve as reference standards for determining the spectral responsivity of spectrometers and radiometers. Unlike wavelength calibration lamps, they provide certified spectral irradiance values (W·m-²·nm-¹). Halogen lamps are available for the 250-2,400 nm range, while deuterium lamps cover the 200-400 nm range. Calibration data are provided at 5 nm intervals.
At sufficiently large measurement distances, irradiance follows the inverse-square law and can therefore be calculated for other distances. Thanks to their stable and uniform emission characteristics, these radiation sources are well suited for precise radiometric calibration, including measurements using larger apertures.
