New educational module around PPMS Electro-Transport Option

Quantum Design present a new educational module around the use of the PPMS ETO written by Prof. Stephen Tsui and his student Bailey Smith of the California State University. You can find this module on their website [1]. In the experiment, the resistive properties of a sample of Fe3O4 are characterized, commonly known as magnetite. The main focus of the experimental setup lies on the observation of the Verwey transition, which is a structural phase transition with magnetic ordering. Even though it was first mentioned in 1939, the physical principles behind the Verwey transition are still under investigation today. All experiments are available for free and help students understand how to operate Quantum Design systems.
