SPAD Cameras

from Pi Imaging

SPAD arrays are extremely fast single-photon detectors in either square, line or hexagonal geometry. They can be used stand-alone cameras, as part of a microscope, mounted on a spectrograph or in a confocal scanning setup. They allow capturing frames at a spatial resolution with up to 1024 x 1024 pixels with 16 µm pitch. Optical gating is possible on the chip level. The time resolution is given by the minimum gate width of 6 ns.

Hexagonal and line arrays are available with a time tagger with up to 20 ps timing precision. This enables confirming photon correlations and fluorescence lifetime measurements. The spectroscopic linear array has got 320 pixels and can be read out with up to 555,000 fps. The SPAD Alpha camera is available as a monochrome camera or as a color camera with a RGB mask.
