Beam shaping platform for ultrashort pulsed lasers
CANUNDA-PULSE from CailabsThe CANUNDA-PULSE Series modules from Cailabs enable top-hat beam shaping of ultra-short lasers used in industrial laser micromachining processes. The CANUNDA-PULSE improves the quality of the laser beam by stabilizing it from fluctuations and is compatible with all standard industrial machines.
- Top-hat profiles: square, circular, linear, Gaussian (only in Cleaning Mode)
- High quality beam shaping with extended depth of field
- Easy integration: compatible with ultra-short lasers, fast scanners and F-theta lenses
- Maintains laser pulse duration
- Passive beam stabilization via Mode-Cleaning function
Further information
The CANUNDA-PULSE modules are designed for high quality beam shaping of ultrashort pulse laser sources. The CANUNDA-PULSE modules provide micrometer-sized spots on the working plane, depth of field equivalent to a Gaussian beam, and resolution at the diffraction limit. The high shape quality of the laser spot obtained with the CANUNDA-PULSE makes it possible to optimize and increase the performance of micromachining processes.
Using the Mode-Cleaning function, CANUNDA-PULSE enables passive stabilization of single-mode lasers by compensating the beam for tilt, shift and astigmatism fluctuations and ensuring continuous stability on the processing plane. This feature effectively suppresses laser instabilities by generating a stable beam with high quality Gaussian or top-hat profile.
Currently, 4 different modules of the CANUNDA-PULSE are available, offering the following profiles:
Profiles that can be obtained with the CANUNDA-PULSE module
Based on a fully reflective optical architecture, the CANUNDA-PULSE enables peak powers of up to 100 µJ with femtosecond pulses!
CANUNDA-PULSE modules can be easily integrated into laser micromachining machines ensuring their performance over the entire field of view of F-theta lenses.
The following diagram shows a typical st-up of a laser micromachining system using a USP (ultra-short pulse) laser with the CANUNDA-PULSE module (all details on the selection and adjustment of the optical elements are provided in the installation procedure):
Standard set up for CANUNDA-PULSE implementation
The input telescope has the function of enlarging the beam radius up to 500 µm and adapting its position to the CANUNDA-PULSE module. The transport telescope, on the other hand, transfers the top-hat beam onto the sample through the scanner and the standard F-theta lens.
