Compact and automated quartz microbalanceOmni from QSense
The quartz crystal microbalance Omni from QSense is the new state-of-the-art instrument from the pioneers of QCM-D. The mounting of the sensor is semi-automatic and allows the highest reproducibility of the sensor position and its signals (the deviation of the absolute values for each sensor is less than 2 Hz). Sample feeding is performed by an autosampler placed directly on the sensor holder, which completely eliminates the need for tubing and allows the shortest possible paths for sample feeding. As a result, the transitions between the individual samples are extremely defined and the results are displayed even more sharply. The clever automation in QSense Omni ensures improved reproducibility and minimal manual handling. With its automatic cleaning, the instrument is ready for the next experiment in no time.
With its significantly improved signal-to-noise ratio, the Omni has by far the best detection limit of any QCM-D system.
Omni comes with a completely new intuitive software and is compatible with the proven QSense sensors. Data interpretation is easier than ever with the Dfind software package.
By using the optional Orbit platform, the Omni is compatible with all QSense modules, e.g. for combining QCM-D with electrochemistry or microscopy and for using the open module and the humidity module.
- 1-4 channels
- 90 µl sample volume per sensor required
- Semi-automatic sensor mounting
- Automatic sample feeding
- Flexible choice of surfaces
- Combination with other measurement techniques, e.g. ellipsometry and microscopy possible
QCM-D can detect and quantify during the binding of small molecules for example the antigene antibody interaction as well as conformational changes in proteins.
Molecules such as prolymers bind to surfaces. With QCM-D a quantification of the thickness of such layers can be made.
Cleaning properties of detergents can be measured in real time.
