EMCCD Serie iXon Ultra da Oxford Instruments AndorPer applicazioni di imaging ultrasensibile Oxford Instruments Andor offre la EMCCD iXon Ultra 888 (1024 x 1024 x 13 µm pixels) e la iXon Ultra 897 (512 x 512 x 16 µm pixels), entrambe con interfaccia USB. Il sensore EMCCD è installato all'interno di una camera a vuoto in modo che temperature fino a -100 °C siano ottenibili attraverso un sistema di raffreddamento termoelettrico.

Le camere EMCCD Serie iXon Ultra mantengono le elevate prestazioni e tutte le caratteristiche avanzate che hanno contraddistinto le EMCCD della precedente Serie iXon3 come leader nel mercato. Tra queste l’efficiente sistema di raffreddamento (fino a -100°C), il bassissimo Spurious Noise e la tecnologia di auto-ricalibrazione del gain EM, EMCALTM, brevettata da Andor per la protezione dal fenomeno di anti-ageing.
Il RealGain™ garantisce inoltre una calibrazione quantitativa ed estremamente lineare del gain EM applicato indipendentemente dalla temperatura del sensore.
L’introduzione della nuova modalità di Crop Mode consente di eseguire acquisizioni con frame rate elevatissimi ora anche con selezione di un’area otticamente centrata sul sensore.
La funzione CountConvert permette l’acquisizione di dati in tempo reale in unità di elettroni o fotoni incidenti.
La iXon Ultra è stata progettata per essere la camera EMCCD più flessibile e più facile da utilizzare disponibile oggi sul mercato. Grazie alla funzione OptoAcquire, infatti, è possibile selezionare le impostazioni predefinite di fabbrica ottimizzate in funzione della specifica applicazione tramite semplice scelta via software.
Ulteriori caratteristiche implementate nella nuova Serie iXon Ultra sono l’interfaccia plug and play di tipo USB, l’introduzione di un readout rate a 80 KHz che permette di ottenere un valore del readout noise ulteriormente più basso quando la camera è utilizzata con amplificatore CCD convenzionale e l’aggiunta di un secondo output con interfaccia 3-tap Camera Link che consente l’accesso diretto ai dati per operazioni di processing “On The Fly”, utile in applicazioni che richiedono l’acquisizione di enormi quantità di dati.
Sulla base di una storia ricca di introduzioni innovative nel mercato delle EMCCD, la Andor ha lanciato recentemente la iXon Ultra 888, la camera EMCCD con sensore da 1 Mpixels ad oggi più evoluta e la prima con interfaccia USB 3.0.
La iXon Ultra 888 è stata riprogettata portando il pixel readout ad una velocità tre volte superiore rispetto ai modelli precedenti raggiungendo una velocità di lettura di 30 MHz e mantenendo al contempo l’eccellente stabilità quantitativa.
L’innovativa EMCCD Andor iXon Ultra 888 è l’unica camera sul mercato ad offrire contemporaneamente sensibilità al singolo fotone su un ampio campo di vista e frame rate fino a 26 frame/s.
Con un sensore di formato 1024x1024 pixels con pixel size 13 µm, la risoluzione spaziale, l’ampio campo di vista e l’elevata velocità di acquisizione rendono la EMCCD iXon Ultra 888 la soluzione più adatta e versatile per le applicazioni dai requisiti più esigenti.
La EMCCD iXon Ultra 897 è dotata del popolare sensore frame transfer da 512x512 pixels ma è caratterizzata da un readout con overclock fino a 17 MHz in grado di spingere il frame rate fino a 56 fps full frame, con interfaccia USB 2.0, mantenendo le stesse prestazioni in termini di sensibilità al singolo fotone e di stabilità quantitativa.
