iXon Ultra von Oxford Instruments AndorFür Bildgebungsanwendungen, bei denen eine extrem hohe Empfindlichkeit gefordert ist, bietet Oxford Instruments Andor die EMCCD-Kameras iXon Ultra 888 (1024 x 1024 x 13 µm Pixel) und iXon Ultra 897 (512 x 512 x 16 µm Pixel) mit USB-Schnittstelle an. Der EMCCD-Sensor ist in einer abgedichteten Vakuumkammer untergebracht, so dass Temperaturen bis -100 °C mit thermoelektrischer Kühlung erreicht werden können.

Die iXon Ultra bietet sämtliche überragenden Leistungseigenschaften der branchenweit führenden iXon-Baureihe, wie z.B. die Vakuumkühlung bis -100 °C, extrem niedriges Störrauschen und die patentgeschützte EM-Neukalibriertechnologie von Andor (EMCAL) sowie Alterungsschutz. RealGain ermöglicht eine quantitative lineare und reale Kalibrierung der EM-Verstärkung unabhängig von der Sensortemperatur. Die Andor-Technologie mit 'übertakteten' vertikalen Verschiebegeschwindigkeiten minimieren sowohl das vom Taktsignal induzierte Ladungsrauschen als auch vertikale Schmiereffekte während des Bildtransfers. Ein neuer optisch zentrierter Crop-Modus ermöglicht noch nie dagewesene Bildraten bei mittig angeordneten Teilbildern. Die Count-Convert-Funktion ermöglicht eine Echtzeitdatenerfassung als Elektronen oder einfallende Photonen. Die iXon Ultra ist die derzeit flexibelste und gleichzeitig anwenderfreundlichste EMCCD-Kamera auf dem Markt und kann über OptiAcquire mit einem einzigen Klick an die Anforderungen unterschiedlichster Anwendungen angepasst werden. Weitere Merkmale der iXon Ultra sind ein Plug-and-Play-USB-Anschluss, ein rauschärmerer konventioneller CCD-Modus sowie ein zusätzlicher Camera-Link-Ausgang, der die einzigartige Möglichkeit bietet, zur Verarbeitung "on the fly" direkt auf Daten zuzugreifen, was besonders bei datenintensiven Anwendungen von Vorteil ist.
Die hoch innovative iXon Ultra 888 Megapixel-EMCCD-Kamera bietet Einzelphotonenempfindlichkeit über ein breites Sichtfeld bei Bildraten von 26 fps. Aufbauend auf einer langjährigen Tradition innovativer Entwicklungen bringt die iXon Ultra 888 einen enormen Leistungsschub für den größten verfügbaren EMCCD-Sensor und die erste USB-3.0-fähige EMCCD-Kamera. Die iXon Ultra 888 wurde technisch vollständig überarbeitet, um eine dreifache Beschleunigung der Pixel-Auslesegeschwindigkeit auf noch nie dagewesene 30 MHz unter Aufrechterhaltung der quantitativen Stabilität zu ermöglichen, und damit die Vollbild-Performance auf Video- Bildraten zu steigern. Bei einem Sensorformat von 1024 x 1024 und einer Pixelgröße von 13 µm ist die iXon Ultra 888 dank ihres Auflösungsvermögens, ihres Sichtfelds und ihrer unvergleichlichen Wiedergabegeschwindigkeit eine hoch attraktive und vielseitig einsetzbare EMCCD-Kamera für anspruchsvolle Anwendungen.
Die iXon-Ultra-Plattform nutzt den beliebten 512 x 512-Einzelbild-Transfersensor und übertaktet den Auslesevorgang auf 17 MHz, und steigert damit die Geschwindigkeit auf überragende 56 Vollbilder pro Sekunde unter Aufrechterhaltung einer Einzelphotonenempfindlichkeit und einer durchgängigen quantitativen Stabilität.
